Cindy Swift for Fairfax Town Council

“For almost ten years, I have worked collaboratively with Cindy on several countywide committees which support neighborhood emergency resilience. She is always prepared and makes substantive contributions to this important work.”
— Catherine Way, Vice Mayor, City of Larkspur

“Cindy Swift is a straight shooter who will diligently work for the benefit of the citizens of Fairfax with energy and commitment.  I have known Cindy since high school and our years together in Fairfax and I can honestly say that her love of this community is matched only by her dedication to a thorough and thoughtful approach to any issue.  Voters would be wise to have her represent them on the Fairfax Town Council.”
— Joann Moore, former Fairfax business owner

More about Cindy Swift

Early life and professional development Cindy is a Bay Area native, born in Oakland and raised in San Francisco. She comes from a working class family – her dad a career Navy serviceman, her mom a computer assistant and union shop steward in San Francisco. Cindy and her brother were the first generation of her family to attend college.

After college Cindy returned to San Francisco where she took a temporary job with the Defense Attaché Office which led to a civilian career with the Department of the Army. After her temporary position with the Defense Attaché Office wound down she transferred to the Civilian Personnel Office at the Presidio of San Francisco where she advanced to the position of Chief of the Technical Services Division responsible for employee benefits and information systems.

Cindy stayed with the personnel office through base closure, successfully retiring/separating and transferring over 3,000 employees.

It was also during her time at the Presidio that Cindy first met her husband and the couple moved to Fairfax.

After her work at the Presidio, Cindy took a position as an Information Technology Specialist for the South Pacific Division of the US Army Corps of Engineers. She advanced to an IT Program and Project Manager working for the Headquarters U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired as a Team Leader managing 3-5 project managers responsible for both small and large Corps wide IT programs and projects.

A longtime volunteer and community leader Fairfax, like other small towns, has always provided many opportunities for community members to volunteer and contribute. Cindy has worked on many advisory and appointed boards and commissions including work in support of our community including the library, parks and recreation, disaster preparedness, neighborhood resilience and has served on the Town’s Planning Commission for over 7 years.

Cindy’s professional development, deep knowledge of the community and longtime service to Fairfax make her an excellent choice for our next councilmember.
